Having read a few of Kings books I never really knee just what his writing entailed.
This was only the second King book that I really enjoyed and was very surprised. I didn’t expect it as I loved the movie so much and generally I dislike the book if I really loved a movie.
This book delved deeper into the penal system on USA and the way in which prisoners could be punished. It deals with executions and the electric chair.
However for me what made this great and not just about the crimes is that it also dealt with the people.
John Coffey was a large man who was sentenced to die for rape and murder of two younger girls. What you really saw was someone who just loved to much and always felt the pain of others and was trying to make life better.
One of my all time favourite movies and now this book has just made me love it even more.
