Lucy gets the same bus every day.
She hopes to get a seat to herself, tries to avoid eye contact, and, if she’s really lucky, reads a chapter of her book.
But it’s a Friday – and the bus is always crammed at the end of the week. Personal space doesn’t exist. She keeps her elbows close and clings to a pole at every juddering stop.
When she gets off, something feels different.
An envelope stuffed with thousands of pounds is in her bag.
Is it the answer to her prayers, or the beginning of a nightmare?
Because, in the end, everything has a price.
A compulsive read that will have you absolutely hooked and reading late into the night

My Thoughts

While not my normal style of mystery I was shocked bone the less at how well I enjoyed this book.

Lucy the main character just seemed so naive and partially stupid. She drove me nuts but was a really strong reaction and a very strong character. A sure sign I enjoyed a book was that it makes me emotionally attached to a character either love or hate.

This book deals with betrayal and its hard to always know a reaction that you will take for this type of thing. Lucy I think in some ways suffered from PTSD and was trying to cover for herself and allow herself he proper time to heal.

I also couldn’t stand the mother of her dead boyfriend who just made me want to punch her as she always blamed others for her son’s dying.
