Hidden deep in the forest, schoolgirl Felicity Parker is found carefully laid out on a rock with nothing but a freshly picked bunch of flowers next to her lifeless form. Detective Jenna Alton is called in to investigate the gruesome discovery.
With the body found just off a popular hiking route, Jenna believes the killer is a visitor to the town… until a second local girl is discovered.

My Review

As the first book in this series earned D.K Hood my swbut author of the year award I had veey high hopes for this novel and was a little nervous that I wouldn’t be as enthralled by book 2.

My fears were so unfounded as this book was even better than the first. Alton and Kane are still the same both stubborn as well as good influences on the community.

The difference in this book a third person is brought in one who knows Kane and will try and assist him in keeping Alton safe.

I really found that this book surpassed my wildest dreams of how a second book would go. It was a breathtaking book as you weren’t sure which way to turn.

The new character that was brought in was great and he came with his children. It brought out the family oriented side of the town.

Small town life is never easy but this shows that it isn’t quiet either. I can’t wait for the third installment to see just what happens next. I picture this book will be one of my top books again this year.
